Telling Stories

A room full of chatter, laughter and smiles greeted me as I visitied the Telling Stories Photography Exhibition at The Ruin in Digbeth last week.  Arranged by Kate Green and the Photosocial group at Midlands Arts Centre, Telling Stories gives an insight into a team of creatives, each with a story to tell through their photography.

With prints strung up around the room like a technicoloured washing line, there was a beautiful and honest mix of portraits, landscapes, heritage and abstract on display.  From crowd pleasers to thought provokers, every image had it’s own unique viewpoint showing the real mix of backgrounds and characters that make up Photosocial.

On Sunday 7th April, Telling Stories moved onto the Midlands Art Centre, where it was deservedly exhibited along side the Handworth Self Portrait Project, Kate Holt’s Girls of South Sudan and The RPS’s International Exhibition.   A photo lovers perfect day out!
